Make a Donation

I am honored to make a donation to Laliguras in celebration of Teej, a tradition that has held such a meaningful place in my life since I was a little girl. I remember going to Teej puja at the mandir with my mom and fasting from as young as 10, continuing the tradition throughout my teenage years. Teej was so much more than a fast — it was my way of learning about my culture, my traditions, and the values my ama instilled in me. I even used to fast and pray for my future husband, and today, in a loving marriage with two beautiful children, I can't help but feel my prayers worked their magic! I hope this donation helps preserve and celebrate a tradition that has given me so much. To all the young women growing up today: stay true to your traditions and learn from your elders, because their wisdom carries generations of love and experience. Especially here in America, keeping these traditions alive is one of the most beautiful ways we can keep our culture alive for the generations that come after us.

Mamu always told me to start a tradition of donating a part of my paycheck to a charity organization that matters to me. When I started my full-time job, I knew I wanted to donate from my first paycheck to Laliguras. You guys have done so much for me and my family, and always been my biggest supporters, so I want to give something in return now that I can.
